About RHBC
Red Hill Basketball Club exists to facilitate players of all ages to learn, develop and enjoy basketball at a domestic level. RHBC core values are to promote participation, encourage all players to have fun and effectively communicate with players, parents, coaches and the community.

A strong emphasis is placed on participation for anyone who wishes to play basketball and RHBC would hope and encourage players and parents to commit to the club for the whole of their domestic basketball career.

We aim to provide a friendly, inclusive and fun environment for all our members, on and off the basketball court.

While utilising many of the facilities of Red Hill Consolidated School for training purposes, the RHBC is NOT directly associated with the school. We are an independent club that operates within the Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA)

Heat Policy
When the indoor temperature reaches 38 degrees celsius at any court, all basketball activities shall be cancelled. This includes practices, games, and any other events scheduled to take place on the affected court.

In the case of Court 3 at Dromana, if the temperature is above 38 degrees celsius on Court 1 and Court 2 but below on Court 3, basketball activities on Court 3 shall be allowed to continue. However, organisers must continuously monitor the temperature and consider cancelling activities on Court 3 if the temperature rises to dangerous levels.

Stadium stand will have access to an instrument to measure the indoor temperature. On days where the weather outside exceeds 30 degrees celsius, the inside temperature should be checked and recorded on the temperature log. This record will serve as evidence of compliance with the policy.

Additionally, where the indoor temperature exceeds 32 degrees celsius, the reduced 'Heat Rule' modifications will be enforced.

For competition this rule includes:
-
2 x 16 minute halves instead of the usual duration.
-
A compulsory referee's timeout at the first stoppage at or after the 8-minute mark, where the clock will stop.
-
Half time will be increased by 1 minute to allow poolers to rest and cool down.

For trainings and other activities this includes but not limited to:
-
More frequent drink breaks
-
Limited aerobic and/or full court activities
-
Reducing session times

It is important to note that VJBL and Big V competitions operate under Basketball Victoria policy, which may have alternate guidelines and rules regarding extreme weather conditions.
Fill in Players
A team may use ‘fill-in’ players to reach a total of six (6) players.
A player may only fill-in:
-
Registered in another SPBA team – up to twice per season per team.
-
Not registered in another SPBA team – up to twice per calendar year total with any team within the Association.
-
Fill-in players must come from a lower division than their highest level regular domestic team. In junior competitions, a lower age level is also considered a lower division.
-
Fill-in players may not play for a team in the same division as their regular team/s.
-
Games played as a fill-in player do not count towards finals eligibility.
-
All player eligibility rules apply to fill in players (e.g. representative player
rule). -
The Association reserves the right to overturn a result of a game if a fill in player is determined to have unfairly affected the result of the game.
-
If a team uses a player that is ineligible the game will be forfeited in favour of the opposition team.
